Government Waste.During the 2009-10 Legislative session, I oppossed the Democrat controlled state government that increased spending and saddled Oregonians with $1.6 billion in new state debt. Raising taxes during the worst recession since the 1930’s severely damaged our economy, halted investments, increased unemployment, and shrunk the employment opportunities for Oregonians. On a national and state level, we would be wise to remember the advice of Thomas Jefferson when he said: “I, however, place economy among the first and most important republican virtues, and public debt as the greatest of the dangers to be feared.”

Immigration Reform
We must actively pursue common sense solutions for our community. We need an economically viable and considerate solution that encompasses our unique American immigration heritage while preserving intact our laws that prevent "open border" insecurity issues.
